Provider Directory Information Attestation

Federal guidelines mandate that providers must attest their data every 90 days. Because of this requirement, BetterDoctor will be reaching out on behalf of CareSource, by email, fax or phone in the near future, to ensure that we have the most current information available for our members.

New Capabilities for Online Claims Submission

Recently, some CareSource members received an erroneous transition fill notice. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. The drugs identified on this notification are covered by CareSource.

Paper Checks Dated 1/21, 1/22, 1/23

ECHO Health Inc, discovered that their third party print vendor issued paper checks dated 1/21, 1/22 or 1/23 that contained errors within the bank account and routing number format. Given the nature of this error, it is unlikely your banking institution will be able to process and deposit the check. Any checks deposited will likely be returned unpaid. Corrected checks will be issued and mailed by close of business 1/27. Please call ECHO Health at 1-888-834-3511 with any questions.

Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) Clearinghouse Registration with ECHO

Effective Jan. 11, 2020, CareSource completed our migration to ECHO Health, Inc. If you are experiencing interruptions with delivery of your ERA/835 EDI files, please contact ECHO Support at 1-888-485-6233 to provide your ERA related clearinghouse and software vendor information.


Enhancements to Authorization on the Provider Portal

CareSource is excited to announce additional enhancements for the Provider Portal. In addition to initiating your prior authorization request through the provider portal, you can now submit requests to update your authorization requests. For example, you will now be able to add additional documentation or change dates of service. Additional information can be found in the prior authorization section on the portal.


ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding and Risk Adjustment education sessions and webinars

CareSource has partnered with Pulse8 and we are offering on line ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding and Risk Adjustment education sessions and webinars. The Webinar details:

  • Free!
  • Covers documentation and coding of illnesses
  • Provides the basics of Risk Adjustment
  • Last one hour
  • Sessions are live and on-demand
  • Live sessions have a question and answer session after the presentation
  • On-demand sessions are approved for one CEU through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)

Submit Consent Forms Via the Portal

Providers can now submit abortion, hysterectomy and sterilization (AHS) consent forms immediately and securely through the Provider Portal. Start by accessing Member Eligibility. After verifying the member’s eligibility, the option to upload the consent form is available. You can verify the upload on the Provider Documents page. Look for detailed instructions on the Member Eligibility tab.


MyCare Waiver Services Prior Authorization Reminder

CareSource would like to remind all MyCare Waiver providers that all waiver codes require a prior authorization. To learn more, view the network notification.


Medicaid Pregnancy Risk Assessment Form

Registration

To register on the Provider Portal, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Register Here link in red at the top of the Login page.
  2. On the User Registration page, complete the required information, and then click Next. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
    • If you are registering as a provider, select Practitioner and complete the information.
      • All your information must match exactly as listed on your Explanation of Benefit (EOB) or welcome letter from CareSource.
      • For your ZIP code, if you have multiple addresses in your profile, any ZIP code from the profile will work.
    • If you are registering as part of a provider group, select Group and complete the information.
      • When you register as a Group, you will have access to all information for all providers listed under the Group Tax ID. Group registration is available for radiologists, anesthesiologists, pathologists, hospitalists, emergency room/urgent care and laboratory providers, as well as facilities, such as hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
      • Your Group Name, Tax ID, Provider ID and ZIP Code must match exactly as listed on your Explanation of Benefit (EOB) or welcome letter from CareSource.
    • Tip – if you are unsure whether you should register as a Practitioner or Group, check your welcome letter from CareSource. If your welcome letter shows you registered under the Group Payee ID, then select Group as the provider type. If the welcome letter shows you registered as an individual, select Practitioner as the provider type.
  3. Confirm the Provider Agreement, and then click Next.
  4. To create your user account, do the following:
    1. Type a User Name that you will use to log in.
    2. Type a Password that you will use to log in. The password must meet the following requirements:
      • Must be a minimum of 12 characters
      • Must contain one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one digit and one non-alphanumeric character.
    3. Type the email address that you want associated to your Provider Portal account. The email you enter is used to send your user account activation.
  5. Select a Security Question, and type your Security Answer. Keep this information available, as you may need to answer your security question to confirm your identity when calling for support.
  6. Click Finish Registration. You will receive a confirmation message at the email address you provided during the registration process.
  7. Locate the email in your inbox to activate your Provider Portal account, open it, and then click the Activate Account link. The activation email will come from a sender titled webmaster and will have the subject Activate Your Provider Portal Account.
    • If you do not see the activation email in your Inbox, do one of the following:
      • Check your spam folder.
      • Confirm that you have entered the email you registered with.
    • If you get a message that you are already registered, go to the Provider Login page and log in.
    • If you get a message that the provider does not exist in Provider Portal, you can call the help line at 1-800-488-0134 (Medicaid, Marketplace and MyCare) or 1-844-679-7865 (Medicare Advantage). This message may occur if the provider is not yet entered into our system (with the Tax ID or CareSource Provider Number you provided).
  8. Locate and open the Email Verification message, and then click Login to access Provider Portal.

Password Reset/Locked Out of Account

If you are locked out of your account due to too many incorrect login attempts, or you do not remember your password, you can reset your password by following these steps:

  1. Click the Forgot password? link on the login page.
  2. Enter your Username, then click Submit.
  3. Locate the email in your email inbox to reset your Provider Portal password. The reset password email will come from a sender titled webmaster and will have the subject CareSource Provider Portal Password.
    1. If you do not see the email in your inbox, do one of the following:
      1. Check your spam folder.
      2. Confirm you are using the same email address that you registered with.

If your account is locked due to too many login attempts, use the Forgot password? link to reset your password, or you can wait 24 hours and attempt to log in again.
