Healthchek (EPSDT) Claim Processing Guidelines are Postponed

In a network notification dated December 31, 2015, CareSource indicated that upcoming changes to Medicaid claim submissions with EPSDT referral indicators would go into effect on claims received after January 31, 2016.

However, in order to ensure all health partners have ample time to understand and implement any necessary changes in claim submission guidelines, we are extending the deadline. We will announce the new effective date in a future network notification. Please check the Ohio Medicaid Updates/Announcements webpage frequently for educational resources on EPSDT claim guidelines.


Independent Providers: 2016 Rate Calculations for Claims > 40 Hours in a Week

CareSource has announced how 2016 rates will be calculated for CareSource® MyCare Ohio (Medicare-Medicaid Plan) independent providers that have claims in excess of 40 hours in a defined work week. This follows the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s related memorandum of December 10, 2105. For details, please see the posted network notification.


CareSource24 Call Summaries Are Now on the Portal

CareSource24®, our nurse advice line, now offers a new benefit to health partners. Whenever a member calls, we will post a summary of the call to the member’s record on the Provider Portal. This summary will include a record of why the member called and what advice the nurse gave. This new portal function will help PCPs better coordinate care with our members.


Accessibility Directory Survey

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) has mandated that managed care plans publish additional data elements in its MyCare provider directories.  CareSource is working to demonstrate compliance and needs your assistance.  ACT NOW by logging on to the provider portal and clicking on the “Accessibility Directory Survey” link. For more information please see the related network notification.


Browser Requirements for the CareSource Provider Portal

In order to use the CareSource Provider Portal, you must use Internet Explorer browser version 8, 9, 10 or 11. We do not support Internet Explorer version 7. You may also use Google Chrome and FireFox browsers.


Gestational Codes Required beginning October 1

CareSource will begin requiring ICD-10 codes on claims for services to members beginning October 1, 2015. At the same time, the Ohio Department of Medicaid will require health partners performing infant deliveries to use gestational codes and appropriate obstetrics procedures and diagnoses on delivery claims on the mother. Patient Liability Reconciliation Spreadsheet

Effective August 24, 2015, the email address to send Patient Liability Reconciliation spreadsheets and supporting documentation will change from appealsresponse@caresource.com to MyCarePL@caresource.com. Please update your contact info according. The Patient/Client Liability Reconciliation spreadsheet is used to report patient/client liability errors or discrepancies for claims paid by MyCare Ohio health plans.  As noted on the spreadsheet, you must submit documentation of the correct patient/client liability (for example, a 9401 form, COLA report, report from AAA).


Prior Authorization for Some Pain Management Services and CPAPs

Effective May 4, 2015, CareSource is implementing a policy change requiring prior authorization for some interventional pain management procedures and CPAPs for dates of service beginning May 4, 2015. For more information, please read our Network Notification.
