Effective January 1, 2017, our Marketplace plans will no longer be called “CareSource Just4Me™.” Our product lines now include Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Marketplace plans.

Controlling High Blood Pressure

Checking your patient’s blood pressure regularly is important. In addition, encourage them to fight high blood pressure by:

  • Monitoring their blood pressure
  • Educating them on the importance of medication adherence
  • Exercising regularly
  • Lowering salt intake
  • Staying at a healthy weight

The member’s medical record should include the following:

  • A diagnosis of hypertension / high blood pressure
  • Documentation of the member’s blood pressure with each visit

We value your partnership in improving the health and care for our members

Cite AutoAuth Update

CareSource is excited to announce that the integration of Cite AutoAuth into our inpatient prior authorization process is NOW LIVE!  You will still initiate your authorization requests through the provider portal just like you do today; however, the Cite AutoAuth module will make it easier for you to document requests and faster to obtain approvals. Get started today! View the network notification for more information.

Zika Virus Coverage

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are warning Ohioans, particularly pregnant women and women planning to become pregnant, to avoid traveling to areas of the world with active Zika virus transmission. Click here for more information and Centers of Disease and Prevention (CDC) recommendations.

Additionally, we wanted you to be aware that CareSource, as a Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO), fully covers any testing and/or treatment related to the Zika virus on behalf of our members.

Finally, we cover mosquito repellants without a prior authorization for our Medicaid members as long as they have a valid prescription.

Attention MyCare Ohio Health Partners: Claims Submission for Waiver Services Made Easier!

CareSource wants you to know about these updates to make the claims submission process for waiver services easier:

  • New Provider Portal Claim Entry form
  • Waiver codes no longer have a separate code to reflect subsequent units
  • Multiple visits provided to a member on the same date of service will have separate codes
  • Member eligibility documented on Claim Submission form

These new updates are effective as of 03/24/16. To learn more about these enhancements, view the Waiver Services Claim Entry and Service Plan Training Presentation.

Healthchek (EPSDT) Claim Processing Guidelines are Postponed

In a network notification dated December 31, 2015, CareSource indicated that upcoming changes to Medicaid claim submissions with EPSDT referral indicators would go into effect on claims received after January 31, 2016.

However, in order to ensure all health partners have ample time to understand and implement any necessary changes in claim submission guidelines, we are extending the deadline. We will announce the new effective date in a future network notification. Please check the Ohio Medicaid Updates/Announcements webpage frequently for educational resources on EPSDT claim guidelines.
